After two years of events being postponed, I can't be the only one to put a little extra effort into my outfits these days, right? As we condense almost three years of weddings into one, I designed this spring/summer collection to give you the basics you love, and the outfits you need to get through wedding season (whether you are a bride, bridesmaid, or wedding guest!).
Before we dive into our outfit ideas for this years' wedding season, a quick introduction in case you are new to Betty x Bow! We are home of the conscious capsule wardrobe, and we design pieces that are ethically and sustainably made right here in Canada. We believe in high quality staples. Instead of creating a hundred pieces each season, we create just a few pieces every year that we know you'll love as much as we do. Today, we want to show you how to style them for every occasion you encounter this wedding season.
What to Wear to Your Bridal Shower
If you are looking for the perfect bridal shower outfit, the Molly Blouse & Shorts were literally made for it. Wear them together for a more formal feminine look or wear the blouse open with a white bodysuit underneath for a more casual, effortless look!
Another option? We love our Millie top paired with the Emma Floral Skirt. The Emma floral skirt pattern was designed in collaboration with Canadian Artist Emma Allen of Emma Allen Design Studio and although we are a little biased, we are obsessed. It's one of my favourite pieces in my own closet!
What to Wear for your Bachelorette Party
Although the Molly Blouse & Shorts would likely be perfect for an afternoon bachelorette wine tasting tour, we know that most bachelorette parties have become full day events, and you need something you can easily take from day to night. Depending on your vibe, we have two options for you: The Lola Jumpsuit or the Molly Shorts paired with the Millie Top or Bodysuit.
What to Wear as a Wedding Guest
Depending on the formality of the wedding, we have you covered with two different dress options (you should probably buy both just to be sure!). First, you have the Sadie Slip Dress, which is a slightly more formal option with gorgeous feminine details like thin adjustable straps and a flounce hem. This is one of my favourite pieces from our new 2022 collection because the sand wash silk finish feels so luxurious, and the mid-length a-line shape seems to look great on everyone.
A slightly more casual option (although still stunning for a summer wedding!), is our fan-favourite Foster Dress. Available in Olive, Black, or Mauve, this can be your new favourite everyday dress or can easily be dressed up to go to a wedding. You'll love how the thigh high split makes the Foster Dress the perfect combination of spicy and sweet!
Your New Favourite Bridesmaid Dress
You know how they say you'll never wear your bridesmaid dress again? We are putting an end to that idea. We created the Sadie Slip Dress to be universally flattering, incredibly versatile, and in two colours that are complementary to most wedding design palettes. These midi dresses are something your bridesmaids WILL wear again. The only question you need to ask yourself is: Blush or Saltwater?
